Ancient: Total War
Rumor has it the next release will take us back to ancient China and battles like those seen in the movie Red Cliff.
Thought the Hun might be interested.
Hope it is true!

I enjoyed this move (both 1&2) very much, even if it was subtitled.
Great battle action, and refreshing in character from western films.
Let me know if you get a chance to see it.

Re: Ancient: Total War
Ancient China is the direction CA/Sega should have gone after M2TW mess, it would have been my dream come true. Unfortunately they went with a cannon fest era and out went the old format of arms. As it stands, I've been left behind with PC spec by now.

Re: Ancient: Total War
Have watched DVD 1.
Brilliant filming. The only problem, as you said. is having to use subtitles.
I find it difficult to concentrate on the film while trying to read what they are saying.
Must be old age.
Looking forward to getting spare time to watch the second DVD.
Over 4 hours long both discs together but well worth watching.

Re: Ancient: Total War
Have now also watched the second DVD, 2 hours 15 minutes.
Brilliant fight scenes and the tactics used. Unbelievable!!
I liked the way they 'aquired' the arrows that they needed for the battle ahead.

Re: Ancient: Total War
I am really glad you liked it
100,000 extras (from Chinese army) were used, a rare treat.
And the tactics were so ingenious, who would have thought so many possibilities?
I have seen quite a few movies coming from China and far east sources lately, and this (although not perfect) was surely the best of them all.
I am looking forward to watching it again, and because I will know the basic plot, being able to concentrate on the action and cinematography more
