I saw this screenshot. After looking at it there are some answers to those questions being asked..
Weather ... Won't be a return to STW, the rain is far more like RTW.
Map ... Same. Bring back the 'old' engine.
Engine .. Judging by units it is more RTW. Where are the standards and banners? Sashi mono? Looking at Japanese units laid bare like this does not bode well for those wishing to emerse themselves, once more, in the atmosphere this period should deliver. Shame.
